What Are Your Qualifications and Experience as a Clinical Psychologist?

As a Clinical Psychologist I have the highest level of training. I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology which I earned in 2007. I also have a Bachelor in Psychological with Honours with I completed in 2003. I have over 20 years of experience working within a range of psychology settings.

What can I expect during my first therapy session?

Your first session will focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship and understanding your concerns, goals, and expectations. We'll discuss your health, childhood, and family history, and you're welcome to ask questions. By the end, we'll develop a tailored understanding of your challenges, discuss a treatment plan, and complete questionnaires to help form an accurate diagnosis.

How long does each therapy session last, and how often should I attend sessions?

Each session typically lasts 50 minutes. Session frequency depends on your needs and availability; most clients attend fortnightly sessions, while others may need weekly or monthly appointments. We'll work together to find the right balance for your therapeutic journey

How do payments work?

Choose from several payment options: EFTPOS terminal (accepts Visa, Mastercard, Amex) or securely stored credit card information. Medicare rebates can be processed at the end of the session, or you can do so through myGov.

Do you work with NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme)?

Yes, I work with NDIS, providing psychosocial support to enhance the capacity of individuals with disabilities.

How can I provide feedback or raise concerns?

I encourage open dialogue during sessions and value your feedback. If I cannot meet your needs, I'll help you explore alternative therapy options.

Are there any specific mental health conditions that you do not treat?

I do not provide couples/family therapy, see children under 12, offer cognitive assessments/medico-legal reports, or work with forensic clients or perpetrators of child sexual abuse.

Can I contact you in between sessions if I have a crisis?

As a private outpatient practice, I cannot provide crisis/high-intensity support. For urgent assistance, contact Lifeline at 13 11 14 or visit your nearest hospital. If you need to see me sooner than scheduled, I typically respond within 24 hours.

Do you work with children?

I see children and adolescents aged 12 and above.

Is there parking?

Yes, a dedicated client car park and street parking are available.
